CLASS & SESSION DESCRIPTIONS
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
PILATES REFORMER
The Pilates reformer offers all the benefits of Pilates including overall strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. The Pilates reformer is large enough to accommodate full-range motion, which is wonderful for increasing flexibility while building strength. The reformer's set-up for eccentric contraction is one of the keys to achieving the long, strong muscles without bulk for which the Pilates work is known for. These classes will use the Pilates reformer, as well as the Wunda Chair, Foam Roller, Spine Corrector and other various Pilates Props.
BALL ROLLING
Ball Rolling is a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique.
It can help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation,
and increase your joint range of motion. Ball Rolling is when pressure is applied to pinpointed spots on muscles, tendons and ligaments while using a foam roller. Practicing this technique often can loosen tight soft tissue and can improve blood flow. Ball Rolling also stimulates muscles for optimal recovery and performance, and can also give your bones
a better support system.
PILATES CIRCUIT with MIXED EQUIPMENT
Pilates Circuit with Mixed Equipment class will utilize reformer, the Wunda chair, jump board, spring board, spine corrector and other props to boost your cardiovascular endurance and challenge your overall strength. Pilates Circuit is a type of “interval training,” meaning it combines cardio elements that make you sweat with resistance training to build lean muscles. The best part about interval training? You’ll continue to burn calories throughout your day even after your workout is done. This class is designed to push your physical limits and give you a cardio boost in a safe yet effective way. This fast, fun class is perfect for the seasoned Pilates student, although newer students are
always welcome with modifications.
PILATES MAT
Each class will work to balance all muscle groups strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will blend the Classical Pilates Method with exercise variations and by using props. (Magic Circle, Fletcher Towel,Stretch-out Straps, Pilates Balls and Elastic Stretch Bands.) Modifications are suggested for beginners or for those with physical limitations. Pilates Mat is a doable method to
sculpt your body and to feel more coordination in your everyday movements.
*All classes are 50 minutes.
