Pilates is the study and practice of uniform muscle development throughout the body. It is not a set of exercises. It composed of a set of principles: centering, concentration, control, coordination, precision, breath, strength, awareness, and flowing movement. A Pilates practice provides students with healthy functional movement that can be applied to everyday life as well as athletic activities.
"Contrology is complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Through Contrology you first purposefully acquire complete control of your own body and then through proper repetition of its exercises you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your subconscious activities." --Joseph Pilates
